Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Knoted. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Knoted is

Knoted gives a local business a printed QR sign and a private inbox. Customers scan the sign and leave a short note. The business reads those notes in its dashboard. We provide the software, the QR codes, and the printed signs you order.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
The information you give us at signup should be accurate, and you should keep it up to date.
One account covers one business.

Plans and payment

Knoted is $29 per month or $290 per year per business location, in US dollars. Additional locations on the same account receive a multi-location rate of $19 per month or $190 per year each. A business plan includes one printed sign, in any format up to a 5 x 7 rigid sign. Further signs are a separate one-time charge, priced by size from $10 to $30 each, plus $7 flat shipping however many you order at once. Knoted for Communities is priced separately as described below. Earlier plans and rates are no longer offered for sale but remain honored for existing subscribers.
For a new self-serve business subscription, you choose your signs, enter your business details and email, then complete secure checkout. Your subscription and feedback page activate when payment clears.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month, or each year when annual Knoted billing is selected, until cancelled.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
If a payment fails we may suspend the feedback page until it is resolved.
We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email, except where a locked founding rate applies: a locked rate does not change while the subscription stays continuously active. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.

Knoted for Communities

Knoted for Communities is priced per community, in US dollars, however many amenity spaces or units the community has. Every community starts with a pilot, then continues on an annual plan. It can be paid by card or invoiced after a quote.

Pilot. $1,500 per community for 90 days, including a printed sign pack for up to 10 amenity spaces. The pilot is paid in full before signs are printed. Its 90 days run from the day the signs arrive. Goals are agreed at kickoff, the price for any further communities is stated in writing before the pilot starts, and the pilot is reviewed at day 60.
Pilot fee. The pilot fee is not refundable, except that we refund it in full if your signs are never delivered or the pilot cannot start for a reason on our side. If the community continues on the annual plan by day 90, the full pilot fee is credited toward its first year.
Annual plan. $3,500 per community per year, sign pack included, invoiced or charged up front. Signs for a community that did not pilot are printed once its annual invoice has been paid, including on invoiced accounts with net payment terms. Five or more communities on one annual invoice are 10% off; fifteen or more are 20% off.
Renewal. Neither the pilot nor the annual plan renews without your agreement. We send the renewal invoice at least 30 days before the year ends, and nothing is charged unless you accept it.
Stopping. If a community stops after its pilot or at the end of a paid year, the printed signs are yours to keep, nothing further is owed, and your notes remain available to export for 30 days before the feedback pages are switched off.
Month to month. On request, a community may instead be billed month to month at $350 per month plus a one-time $500 sign pack, payable before signs are printed. Cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid month.
Extra signs. $30 each, payable before printing.
Earlier terms. Communities that subscribed before September 26, 2026 keep the price and terms they signed up on, including a locked founding rate of $149 per community per month, which does not change while the subscription stays continuously active. Where a signed pilot agreement extends the founding rate to further communities in the same portfolio, or states its own refund terms, that agreement governs.

Cancelling

Cancel from your billing settings at any time. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Outside the money-back guarantee below, we do not provide partial refunds for unused time unless the law requires it.

30-day money-back guarantee

If Knoted is not working for your business, let us know within 30 days of your printed signs arriving and we will refund everything you have paid, your plan and any signs you paid for. If your order has no printed signs, the 30 days run from the day your feedback page goes live.

For an annual Knoted purchase, you may also request a full refund within 30 days of purchase. After that window, cancelling annual billing stops the next renewal at the end of the paid year; no prorated refund is provided unless the law requires it.

Knoted for Communities does not use this guarantee. It starts with a 90-day pilot instead, whose fee is credited toward the first year and refunded only as described under Knoted for Communities above.

Printed signs

This section covers signs ordered on a Knoted business plan. The amenity sign pack that comes with Knoted for Communities is described under that plan above. Your plan includes one printed sign, in any format up to a 5 x 7 rigid sign. Signs beyond that one are a separate one-time charge, priced by size from $10 to $30 each, plus $7 flat shipping however many you order at once. Signs carry our own design with your QR code applied, and they are held in stock rather than made to order, so there is no proof to approve: we apply your QR code and post them after you complete setup, typically within a couple of business days. If a sign arrives damaged, tell us within 30 days and we will replace it at no charge. Any other replacement, for wear, loss, or wanting more signs, is priced like an extra sign.

Feedback left by your customers

Notes left through your QR sign belong to you. We do not sell them or share them with other businesses.
We may access them where it is necessary to run or support the service, or where the law requires it.
We do not verify who wrote a note, and we do not guarantee that a note is accurate, truthful, or from a real customer.
You are responsible for how you act on the feedback you receive.

Acceptable use

Do not use Knoted to break the law, to harass anyone, to collect sensitive personal information such as health or financial details, or to run a service that competes with ours by reselling access. Do not attempt to identify anonymous contributors, interfere with the service, or access accounts that are not yours. We may suspend or close an account that does these things.

Availability

We aim to keep Knoted running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days notice and a way to export your feedback.

Disclaimers

Knoted is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that using Knoted will improve your reviews, your ratings, or your revenue.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Knoted is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Knoted after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
