Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Knoted. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Knoted is

Knoted gives a local business a printed QR sign and a private inbox. Customers scan the sign and leave a short note. The business reads those notes in its dashboard. We provide the software, the QR codes, and the printed signs included with your plan.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
The information you give us at signup should be accurate, and you should keep it up to date.
One account covers one business.

Plans and payment

Plans are Knoted at $39 per month and Knoted Pro at $99 per month, in US dollars.
You can create an account and see your dashboard without a card. Your public feedback page activates once payment clears.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
If a payment fails we may suspend the feedback page until it is resolved.
We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.

Founding rate

The first 20 businesses to activate a Knoted subscription pay a founding rate of $29 per month instead of $39. That rate is locked for as long as the subscription stays continuously active, and it does not step up over time.

The 20 spots are counted across live founding subscriptions, and eligibility is decided at checkout. Once they are taken, the rate is no longer offered.
The founding rate applies to the Knoted plan. Upgrading to Knoted Pro moves you to the Pro price.
Cancelling ends eligibility. If you cancel and later subscribe again, you resubscribe at the price offered at that time, even if founding spots remain.
Everything else about the plan is the same, including the 30-day guarantee below.

Cancelling

Cancel from your billing settings at any time. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Outside the 30-day guarantee below, we do not provide partial refunds for unused time unless the law requires it.

30-day money-back guarantee

If Knoted is not working for your business, let us know within 30 days of your feedback page going live and we will refund everything you have paid, your plan and any extra signs included. Printed signs that have already shipped are yours to keep, and there is nothing to send back.

Printed signs

Your plan includes a number of printed signs. We print and ship them after you complete setup. Signs remain yours. If a sign arrives damaged, tell us within 30 days and we will replace it. Replacements beyond the included quantity may be charged.

Feedback left by your customers

Notes left through your QR sign belong to you. We do not sell them or share them with other businesses.
We may access them where it is necessary to run or support the service, or where the law requires it.
We do not verify who wrote a note, and we do not guarantee that a note is accurate, truthful, or from a real customer.
You are responsible for how you act on the feedback you receive.

Acceptable use

Do not use Knoted to break the law, to harass anyone, to collect sensitive personal information such as health or financial details, or to run a service that competes with ours by reselling access. Do not attempt to identify anonymous contributors, interfere with the service, or access accounts that are not yours. We may suspend or close an account that does these things.

Availability

We aim to keep Knoted running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days notice and a way to export your feedback.

Disclaimers

Knoted is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that using Knoted will improve your reviews, your ratings, or your revenue.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Knoted is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Knoted after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
